The framework
Terms of use
The ground rules for using ScoutLib and contributing to the catalogue.
Last updated: 2026-05-31
Purpose
These terms govern access to and use of ScoutLib, a free community platform of inspiration for scout leaders. By creating an account, you accept these terms.
TO BE COMPLETED (legal): publisher identity (chosen legal structure) and governing law. To be specified before sign-ups open. See the legal notice.
Access to the service
ScoutLib is free. Part of the catalogue (previews) is public; the full idea details and the personal space require an account. "Leader" access may be subject to verification (co-optation or approval).
Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of your information and the confidentiality of your credentials. You can delete your account at any time from your space. We may suspend an account in case of breach of these terms.
Community rules
ScoutLib is a space among leaders, in the spirit of scouting. By contributing and exchanging, you agree to:
- Stay kind and respectful, in the FSE spirit.
- Only publish original content, or content you have the right to share.
- Not publish illegal, hateful, dangerous content or content unsuitable for minors.
- Not impersonate others or misuse the service.
Your contributions
You remain the author of the ideas you submit. They are reviewed before publication and may be edited for consistency or rejected.
By submitting a contribution, you grant ScoutLib a non-exclusive, free and perpetual licence to distribute it, so the catalogue stays consistent and useful even after you leave. When you delete your account, your published ideas are kept but anonymised; your drafts are deleted.
TO BE COMPLETED (legal): public distribution licence for ScoutLib's original content under consideration (e.g. Creative Commons CC BY-NC-SA), to be confirmed with the legal structure.
Federation content and trademarks
ScoutLib draws inspiration from scouting resources but does not republish protected texts or illustrations. "Pistes", the Action Post manuals, and the "Scouts of Europe", "FSE" trademarks and the FSE fleur-de-lis belong to the Federation of European Scouting. ScoutLib is an independent initiative, not affiliated.
Moderation
A team keeps an eye on the quality and spirit of contributions. Every idea is validated before publication. Reported content may be removed.
Liability
ScoutLib is provided "as is", with no guarantee of completeness or uninterrupted availability. Activities must always be adapted and supervised by the leader in accordance with their movement's safety rules. ScoutLib cannot be held liable for how the catalogue's ideas are used.
Personal data
How we process your data is described in our privacy policy.
Changes to the terms
These terms may be updated. The last-updated date is shown at the top of the page; significant changes will be flagged.
